My Recommended Reading List
Here are some of the books that I have read on the subject of extra income, side hustles, and getting motivated. All of these books are fantastic reads whether you are just starting out or you are a seasoned pro.
What is the most important step to remember after you have read or listened to content that you connect with? TAKE ACTION!
I can’t remember the exact order in which I have read/listened to all of these books, so they are not exactly in order. Here we go!
- The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future by Chris Guillebeau – This book reaffirmed to me that you don’t have to spend a fortune to start a business. Definitely a great first read.
- The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich by Timothy Ferris – A jolting reminder that there is no time like the present to live the life you want. A creative perspective helps to carve out possibilities you may never have thought of.
- Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki – When I first saw this book on the bookshelves in the late 90’s (when book stores were actually a thing), I had no idea how significant it was and the power it contained within it’s bindings. I was in my mid-20’s and when I read it earlier this year, I really wanted to go back in time and kick myself in the bum for not picking it up. It would have been a real Biff Tannen moment.
- How To Be F*cking Awesome by Dan Meredith – This guy. Wow. Open, honest, and really lets you have it. Dan’s the man and he lives up to his book title.
- Let Go: Expanded Edition: How to Transform Moments of Panic into a Life of Profits and Purpose by Pat Flynn – as a Pat Flynn disciple, this was a great origin story. I connected with this book because, as I think back on the times of some of my greater achievements, it wasn’t until I let go that I found my way to success. Pat’s work is very inspirational.
- Will It Fly? How to Test Your Next Business Idea So You Don’t Waste Your Time and Money by Pat Flynn – Yep, Pat’s on here twice. He gives some great sound advice that will save you loads of time, money, and heartache.
So, there’s my current favorites list of books I’ve read/listened to. I prefer to listen to the Audible versions of books when possible, especially if it is the author reading it.
